Location

Casita Loma is situated about three miles inland from Fuengirola, within an 8 minute walk (2 mins by car) of the Mijas Golf Courses (2 x 18 holes) and the famous 5* Byblos Hotel.

The popular coastal towns of FUENGIROLA and BENALMADENA are within a short drive, MARBELLA and PUERTO BANUS are about 20 minutes away, GIBRALTAR 1½ hours and SEVILLE 2½ hours.

There are many old Spanish villages that can be reached by turning inland off the main coastal road. Our neighbouring village, which is higher up the mountain and a 15 minute drive, is MIJAS PUEBLO. It is most enchanting with numerous shops, bars and restaurants. There are carriage rides around the narrow streets or even trips by donkey!!

A huge 'EROSKI' shopping mall (built in 2004) is about 10 minutes drive away (adjacent to the N340 at Fuengirola) where most requirements are available under one roof.

SPORT

The Mijas Golf Course is just a few minutes walk from the villa providing excellent facilities and has two superb 18-hole courses. There are many other Championship Golf Courses along the coast, all within 10 - 45 minutes drive.
The Lew Hoad Tennis Club, horse riding, go karting and the Mijas Aqua Park are all within 10 minutes drive.
The Sierra Nevada ski slopes are a 2-hour drive away.

MARKETS, MARI N AS & OTHER
There are many small-town markets within a short diving time. A short list would include:
FUENGIROLA (Tuesday market)
TORREMOLINOS (Thursday market)
BENALMADENA (Friday market)
PUERTO BANUS (Saturday market)
Each of these towns also have facinating sea ports which are great to visit, and offer day trips and inexpensive ferry trips, stopping at other ports - north to Malaga or south to Gibraltar. The city of Granada with the 12th century Alhambra Palace is a two hour drive away.

The Sea Life Centre - marine educational fun.
Tivoli World - Show and Amusement Park.
Eagle Garden - eagles, hawks and vultures show their skills.
El Retiro - birds of paradise; more than 1000 multi-coloured birds from around the world.
El Ranchito - Horse Show with the beautiful Andalucian horses, every Thursday.
Selwo Nature Park - where everything has been made using an African theme. It covers 500 hectares with a further 100 hectare farm a nd has 7 restaurants and shops. Transport inside the park is by way of buses, jeeps and small train-type cars. There are around 2500 animals. This is the largest Nature Park in Europe and is only a 45 minute drive from the villa.
